| Vivendi Entertainment has upped two senior execs as it ramps up its theatrical pipeline. Soumya Sriraman was elevated to senior VP of theatrical marketing from VP of marketing and ops, while Yolanda Macias moved up from veep to senior VP of business development and acquisitions. Vivendi, part of Universal Music Group, had been operating as a homevid arm but recently began developing theatrical fare under the direction of prexy Tom O'Malley. One of its first such projects is "New York, I Love You," a compilation of 12 shorts with segments directed by Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson, among others. Orlando Bloom, Julie Christie, Christina Ricci and Kevin Bacon are among the stars. Sriraman will be responsible for all aspects of theatrical marketing, including publicity, promotions, media and creative services. She will work closely with filmmakers to ensure their vision is effectively marketed. In her expanded role, Macias will be responsible for negotiating and acquiring content from independent producers and studios. She also heads the company's digital video division. |
