These are a couple of scans from the January 2005 edition of Empire Magazine (UK) which had a double page advertisement for the Return Of The King DVD Gift Set.
This gift set was comprised of a Minas Tirith polystone keepsake box, a bonus DVD: "Creating The Lord Of The Rings Symphony" and the 4 disc Special Edition DVD.
Did anyone ever buy this set? I only had the DVD.

I have this box set. They did them for all three films.
The first one had book ends of the Argonath statues.
The second had either a Smegal or Gollum figure, you had the oppotunity to order the other one and a range of other figures.
The this last one Minas Tirith secret trinket box.
Each has the extended version and about 8 hours of extras. The second one also has a dvd of the creation of Gollom.

I clearly remember the Argonath Box Set, because as much as I liked them I just couldn't afford them (and they are not getting any cheaper).

If you pop into HMV when they are having a sale (especially if they are doing boxsets near Christmas) they drag them out and sell them for about £25/£30.
If I come across any cheap anywhere I'll alert the forum.

I think they made more of the second one thats the one I see most places.
I think Asda and Dixons have it at a similar price.
If you order it from Currys and Dixons in the UK you can pick it up from a local store so no lost or damaged in the post rubbish and you can look at it before you pay for it.
