I loved the interviews he gave when he was promoting KOH. You could see alot of thought he put into the film and his personal views. Such a good film. One of his best I think.

Yeah, that KoH period was one of his bests. He was so excited :)

I agree, in my opinion it is the best, especially when watching the Directors Cut version.
You could see the excitement and the passion in all of the interviews he gave, he was on such a high during that period.

I loved the way Orlando looked during the KOH period. He gave the interpretation of Balian that Ridley wanted, and he was proud of his work. And so he should be, I believe his portrayal of Balian is the best work he has done to date. Jesse and Uletek :thankyou:

Thats it exactly tinakel, he portrayed Balian exactly as written.
So many people expected Balian to be a carbon copy of General Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russel Crowe - Gladiator) purely because Sir Ridley Scott was directing. That was all those two men - Balian and Maximus - had in common. These were two men separated by a few hundred years, in different periods of history. No room for comparison at all really.

You hit that one right on the head. Roman period vs the Crusades in the 12th century. Both men fighting for two different reasons and two different causes. I don't think Balian fought for Jerusalem until he was actually there and witnessed the brutality and courage of the Leper King, and the determination of the Saracens and Saladin. I think too that people who thought Orlando would deliver his role like Crowe were disappointed, but their fault on that point.
First, Russell Crowe and Orlando are two different people and have two different acting styles. The distance in history aside, Orlando can convey a scene with just a look of his eyes or expression of his face. His emotions of the character comes through and he can deliver a speech with just his facial expressions. I don't feel many people can see that in him (well we can), but those who criticize his work and call him wooden should go back and watch his face more than anything.

I think these pics. from 'The Early Show' are hilarious and thought they might be of interest. I have had them for a long time and am sorry that I can't recall and give credit to the source.
