| Orlando Bloom gained 20 pounds of muscle for this movie. After the film, Orlando lost the weight as quickly as he could. Every pound he gains has a direct effect on his back. Orlando Bloom suffered from a month of flu during the movie and a couple of hand injuries from sword-fighting. During the scene where Orlando is speaking to the soldiers before Saladin’s army comes flooding through Jerusalem, he had a bronchial infection and you can hear the hoarseness in his voice. The screenplay is 260 pages long, twice the usual length of a screenplay. |

| Miscellaneous: When Balian is building the timber water channel he places the lower level duct on top of the higher one. This should be the opposite way round as in its current state any water running down would run under the lower duct and consequently be lost. Continuity: During the second day of the siege, Balian watches several Saracen soldiers put their flag upon one of the towers; Balian is seen taking a weapon from a nearby Archer, if you look closely that weapon is a war hammer in the next shot, Balian is scene slashing a Saracen with an arrow. |
