Description: Bloom bios for the younger set

Thought these little hardcover gems might be of interest. I happened upon them on amazon.com and ordered them on a whim. They arrived yesterday and are actually quite nice! Nothing very deep, mind you, but the books are very colorful with lots of nice pictures.

The newest book of the three (published this year) isn't as inflammatory as the "Paparazzi" title might suggest --though one wonders what kind of parents would want their kids reading about the likes of Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton, (who also have volumes devoted to them in this series). Just lots of bright, colorful pictures and chirpy text. Mostly studio publicity stills --so much for that Paparazzi angle-- but there are some nice shots of Orlando and his family --dad, too!-- at the 2005 premiere of Kingdom of Heaven. It also has a listing of websites in the back that --shockingly!-- omits clickorlando.org! :o

Published last year, this book for the younger set boasts lots of big, colorful pictures of our favorite actor. This little tome reminds me of those "Little Golden Books" we all grew up with (or "Ladybird" books for those in the UK). The book ends on the question of whether or not Orlando might do a play someday. (Hmm, I wonder... ;))

Published in 2006, this book is thicker than the other two and has a lot of nice side bits that I'd never read before (like the tale of Sean Bean and Orlando being trapped in a small New Zealand town by mud slides because Orlando wanted to delay their journey to the LOTR shoot to shop for Christmas presents --bless!). All black and white pictures, but a bit more sophisticated, in-depth text.

There are other similar books available on amazon/amazon UK as well (where were books like these when I was growing up?!) and, while they're nothing too earth-shattering, they are rather nice Bloom-centric volumes to add to ones library.

And while we're on the subject of children's books, who else thinks it's high time Orlando wrote a children's book about his time in Nepal? Might be a wonderful way to educate children about that culture not to mention raise a little money for Unicef.

Thanks so much OrlandoLad for reviewing these books for us. I've seen them on Amazon and often wondered if they were worth buying.

I definitely agree, Orlando should write a book about his time in Nepal, thats a wonderful idea.

Thanks for that. I have two of his biographies; nothing that we don't already know about him, but the pictures are very nice.
