Hey, Hollywood: Feeling the need to rock a red carpet? Hop a flight to London.
With the lingering writers' strike casting a cloud of uncertainty over next month's Oscars, Britain's BAFTAs could provide many actors with the only international platform to strut their stuff.
So perhaps it's no surprise that a clutch of heavy-hitters are expected to grace the glamorous Feb. 10 event.
Jessica Biel and Kate Hudson have signed on to present at the Orange British Academy Film Awards (along with England's own Orlando Bloom).
Meanwhile nominees Keira Knightley, Daniel Day-Lewis, James McAvoy and Viggo Mortensen are all expected to take their places at London's Royal Opera House.
Organizers are expected to release a final list of confirmed nominees and presenters in a few days. |

Guess we poor Yanks will just have to hope for table scraps (or a repeat on BBC America).

I think there is aprogram here in the States that shows BAFTA. But, if not, I know our good friends here will shine through for us.
It will be great to see Orlando meet up with Keira again. Hope Atonement does well that night along with Sweeney Todd.

Ah, you're right, libra, I see on tvguide.com that E! will have a BAFTA "Live from the Red Carpet" Special on February 11th at 9pm (EST?)
Sounds like a prime chance for some Orlando-watching to me! :P
I'll have to keep checking the site to see if the actual awards show will be broadcast at some point as well...
Thanks for the tip!

Thank you for the information that Orlando is presenting in the BAFTA awards. In reply to Orlandolad's wondering if they will have the show telecast on this side of the Pond, I have watched it here on one of the cable channels either on the actual night of the telecast or a day or so after. So please keep looking for the posting. I will too.
Witchie-poo - February 2, 2008 01:12 AM (GMT)
Hi, Witchie-poo here again. I just got the information from The Orlando Bloom Files Website. If you here:
http://news.sky.com/skynews/livenewseventsYou can watch a streaming clip of The Red Carpet Arrivals. Its running on a loop, you see Orlando when Viggo is being interviewed.
Afraid I don't have any Live From The Red Carpet here on TV, but my husband and father-in-law are hogging the TV anyway....watching football!! <_<

I caught Viggo's interview. He looked very handsome, and was very humble and gracious when he was being praised.
Orlando was shown signing autographs - always thinking of his fans, bless him. How I wish it was him winning a BAFTA for something. He certainly deserves it for his role as Will Turner.

Wowsers, Hollywood must have looked rather dull this weekend...
Because all the beautiful people were in Blighty for the Bafta Awards.
The Royal Opera House in London's Covent Garden was a virtual feast of glitz, glamour and gorgeous people galore.
The likes of Sienna Miller and her beau Rhys Ifans sailed along the red carpet (separately of course), while Orlando Bloom and Daniel Radcliffe showed their fans some love by signing autographs.

Thank you for the link, Jesse!
Like libra I watched the feed as well. Good to see Viggo looking so dashing (his exchange with Daniel Day Lewis was very sweet). Loved how you could suddenly hear all this screaming during their interview. I thought, Orlando must have arrived. And sure enough, the camera cuts to our favorite lad tirelessly signing autographs on the red carpet. :P
Ah, almost like being there.

The links are working, but it may be that the sites are on Orlando Overload.
I have my DVD all set - only 45 minutes, and even though I seen it "live", I still want to record it anyway.

I wonder if he was aware of the type of people he was signing for. I bet if he knew he would have taken his pen and head for the hills.
