Orlando Bloom was being tailed by paparazzi when he crashed his car into a parked vehicle, police said. The actor's two passengers were injured in the accident. The "Pirates of the Caribbean" star was driving a Toyota Matrix on Fountain Avenue in Hollywood when another vehicle cut him off, causing him to swerve and smash into a parked car, police said. A police spokeswoman said the 30-year-old actor was being pursued by photographers when the accident occurred around 2:15 this morning. "He believed he was being followed by paparazzi, and the car near to him was paparazzi," said the spokeswoman. Police said Bloom was not driving under the influence. "No alcohol was involved, and he wasn't speeding," police Officer Ana Aguirre said. She said there was minor damage to both Bloom's car and the Porsche Caynenne he hit. The English actor, who rose to fame as the elf Legolas in "The Lord of the Rings" movies, was not hurt. But a 30-year-old woman riding in the front seat suffered a cut on her neck and a 35-year-old backseat passenger had a neck fracture, police said. TMZ.com identified the backseat passenger as celebrity stylist Cher Coulter, who has worked with stars such as Brad Pitt, Britney Spears, Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant and Jared Leto. The actor's rep issued a statement calling the accident "a minor car collision" and said Bloom was "grateful no one was seriously injured." "Bloom called for help immediately following the incident. He spent last night at the hospital to be with his childhood friend who sustained a minor neck injury," the statement said.

Despite online reports to the contrary, Orlando Bloom was not intoxicated — at least according to the police —when the car he was driving last night ended up in a minor accident. “He showed no signs or symptoms of intoxication,” an LAPD spokeswomen tells OK!, explaining why no sobriety test was given. “The officers are experts. They can tell by looking if a person is intoxicated.” The Lord of the Rings star was involved in a minor car crash early Friday morning, while driving in Hollywood, CA. At around 2:15 AM, Bloom, 30, was behind the wheel of a 2003 Toyota Matrix when, the spokeswoman tells OK! “a silver or white SUV cut him off, forcing him to hit two parked cars.” Bloom, a 30-year old female passenger who was in the front seat and a 35-year-old female backseat passenger were taken to a local hospital. Bloom suffered no injuries, while the woman in the back seat suffered a fractured neck. Right now LAPD is looking for the SUV that cut in front of Bloom, and “investigating it as an accident” as no ticket was issued to the actor.

ORLANDO BLOOM's cousin and famed photographer SEBASTIAN COPELAND spoke with "The Insider"'s CHERYL WOODCOCK this morning about his new book Antarctica: The Global Warning, in stores now, as well as about his famous kin. "He is doing fine, thank you for asking," he tells Cheryl. "Luckily, it was a fender bender and unfortunate of course because he was chased by paparazzi and we know from the past what fatal consequences it can have. Luckily, this time around, he is fine. He is absolutely wholesome and very healthy in his diets and his consumption in general. He is a non-alcohol drinker so I think he is a great role model. "It's symptomatic, this frenzy the media has with celebrities," he continues. "I wish we could mandate something against this type of activity because it is bound to create more of this type of incident and puts people in danger and for what? A photograph of them coming out of a car or getting a Starbucks coffee? I just don't get it."
