*is now sulking* Why don't we get it, and the 'cute' hangman's noose? Not fair. Yes... I am apparently four years old...

*Sulks with you..*It would have been a great comfort for not seeing the statue itself when I was there :(
(oh and we miss the "rough guide to sexonthebeach with Captain Turner" as well
:thud: ) hehehe..does have a nice ring to it dont it

I just don't get this. Japan and France are both Region 2...so why not the UK, when Tussauds is in the UK?
I'm off to do some researching! <_<
ETA: Free cards on
AMAZONETA 2: Nothing! No mention of the UK extras anywhere. It just says TBC (To Be Confirmed)
OrlandoLad - October 2, 2007 11:15 PM (GMT)
Jesse: Thanks for the heads up on the extra DVD "treasures" from Japan.
Arrrh! They have such nice things...
I immediately placed my order for the limited edition set from CD Japan (God bless my region-free, PAL-friendly player --got it for letterboxed
BUFFY watchin', but the benefits just keep rolling in).
CD JapanAlso notice that EZ-DVD of Australia is doing another (particularly gorgeous) exclusive tin for
AWE, but, alas, no "Waxy Will" segment on their discs, either...
EZ-DVDMaybe the segment will be included on a "pack-in" premium disc for some chain (like BEST BUY or CIRCUIT CITY here in the States. Or HMV 'cross the pond). Very odd how this particularly tasty goodie appears in some regions but not in others. I mean, how can it
NOT be on the UK versions? :wtf:
Is it December yet? :ex:
Yoha - October 2, 2007 11:54 PM (GMT)
When I saw the info about the Japanese version I did a quick search with Best Buy and Circuit City as well as Amazon and no one is showing a collector's edition/3 disc version currently.
I'm hoping that they just haven't listed them yet but it's odd that it's already showing up in other countries. December just can't get here fast enough!!!

Thanks for all the links OrlandoLad. I love that tin set and the 3 Disc Japanese version is gorgeous. I really hate it when one country gets preference over another because the fans of the films/actors are exactly the same world wide. It just make for a lot of discontent.
We are in the same positition over here in Europe (Region 2) with the Troy Ultimate DC. We don't have it, and it's so lovely.
I honestly don't think we need another DVD player in this house - 2 computers, 1 cinema system, 1 DVD recorder/player, 1 normal DVD player in the bedroom, 1 playstation and 1 TV/DVD player! Well maybe I could do with a multi-regional player...but where to put it?? :lshic:
OrlandoLad - October 4, 2007 09:24 PM (GMT)
You're quite welcome,
Jesse. That Japanese set is a bit of a tasty number, isn't it? ;)
It does seem odd that different regions get different packages of the movies we all know and love (you should see the posh bookcase editions of DUNE I have from Germany! But I digress...) I didn't know the "sumptuous" version of TROY was limited to the US. Still think you need to invest in a bit in a new player...
Speaking of which, I know what you mean about having piles of hardware about the house. I'm down to the one region-free DVD player, but I have more gaming consoles than I care to remember (most of them in storage under the bed where they're
obviously getting the most use!)
Finally, I ran across this article on the extra goodies on the forthcoming AWE release (I assume this will be on the R1 release as this is a US publication, but who knows?) Sounds like a nice addition --better than the usual "fluff" pieces (and perfect for dullards like me who get lost in Orlando's eyes, um, the plot, when watching the films).

Thank you for that bit of information. I'm very curious about what happened between the films in the storylines. :ex: The sword I figured out after the first couple of times I saw the movie. After I got over the shock of them killing Will. What I really want to know is if one of those swords on the beach is also that same sword. Did Will keep that sword?

I hear Amazon.com calling to me! I haven't got one of those little travel DVD players...now there's a thought! :flirt:
That's a really interesting article OrlandoLad. Thanks for the link.
It's interesting that they mention the path of the sword because that was something we were discussing for quite a while. We scrutinized many screencaps to keep track of it.
I'm also rally interested in the Multiple Jack's scene. There was so much going on there that I couldn't catch it all. Definitely a nod to a couple of Johnny's other films there...as was the mention of pies at the very end.
The 'Anatomy of Maelstrom' we've seen on a clip. I clearly remember the hanger. I think it was recorded from a TV special. I'll have to get back to you on that one.
No mention of Will and Tussauds though.
