Jesse - September 7, 2007 01:20 PM (GMT)
:o Right! I am definitely getting to the town tomorrow! These pictures are stunning.

Thanks Tiger and mayfrayn.

ETA: I'm not going to read the article until I get my copy.

Gonedeaf - September 7, 2007 02:38 PM (GMT)
Oh C-R-A-P!!! I spent all morning in town and all day yesterday up a shopping centre and forgot to look for this! Grach!

The photos are gorgeous - I may have to pop back in later on - once my footsies have recovered!

Thanks for the scans hon! :D :friends:

LoisKent - September 7, 2007 03:42 PM (GMT)
Oh My ... !
I'm going to Gare Du Nord's bookshop soon !

Thanks for the scans :D

Idrillia - September 7, 2007 06:08 PM (GMT)
The pictures are truly stunning. Muscles, vest, veins... so lovely. I was a little bit put off by the dismissive attitude the writer took to the fans.. but the article is incredibly complimentary of Orlando himself. I can't wait to see if the small photos make it out on the internet because a couple of them are truly beautiful images.

Lissa - September 7, 2007 09:23 PM (GMT)
So lovely! Thanks for sharing, mayfrayn.

Shana - September 7, 2007 09:43 PM (GMT)
Wow look at those lovely pics!
Thank you soo much!
I hope I can grab an issue soon!

dmk759 - September 7, 2007 10:51 PM (GMT)
I really loved the article it is so very nice to hear that he dosen't have a big head about all this. I have seen him at the theater and I can tell you that he seems to be so happy and excited and a little surprised about all the attention he is getting from his fans. I do resent again however the insinuation by the author that we are all screaming little girls. I wish I could remember his exact words but anyway that is all I have to say.
I will very much miss seeing Orlando everyday and I am so happy that he is starting to try to be a little more social now. I do hope he takes time off after this I think he really needs it, again the mother in me talking

dmk759 - September 7, 2007 11:29 PM (GMT)
 You know after rereading the article the author said "full-blown teenage crush and shrieking from baying mob". So sorry I guess maybe I'm just a little too sensitive today but I still do take offense from that even though he probably didn't mean it in any derogatory way.

Jesse - September 8, 2007 02:08 PM (GMT)
I've got it! :yahoo:

Exactly what I thought when I was reading it - "Listen the last thing I wanted to do was put myself out there in a star vehicle or feel like it was 'The Orlando Bloom Show.'"

There is one thing that really annoys me, which is the vast majority of people assume that Orlando's entire fan base is made up of afore mentioned screaming, baying fans. Because the more mature and 'quieter' fans are literally 'drowned out', we are overlooked as we stand quietly in the sidelines. We support Orlando 'the actor' not Orlando 'the pin-up' and quiet frankly, when looking at that from a reporters point of view...we are rather boring!

I see 'homemade cakes' got a mention in that same paragraph! Knowing the real story behind that I'm not quite sure which way to read it! What do you all think?

Anyway, I've made some scans of our own. As always, if you wish to post elsewhere, please credit...

I couldn't have said it better myself Jesse. It's a shame that people fail to realize that there are some of us who appreciate more than his pretty face. (Even though it is the first thing that draws most of us in.)

I must say... these pictures are scorching! :thud: :thud:

Thanks Jesse and Mayfrayn for the scans.
That white undershirt is just.. umm.. hmm.. well, ya know.

Yoha - September 8, 2007 07:51 PM (GMT)
Hi everyone! Wanted to give those here in the US a heads up.
I work at a Borders on the weekend and we do carry the British GQ magazine. We still had the September issue on the shelf (with Clive Owen on the cover), so I've got my coworkers on alert for when the October issue comes in! ;)

Also, we have a Barnes and Noble across the street and I called over to see if they carried it and they too still only had the September issue.

Anyway, wanted to let you all know so you may want to check with some of the larger bookstore chains here in the US cause we may possibly, hopefully be seeing it soon. Good Luck!

Phynx - September 8, 2007 09:37 PM (GMT)

OrlandoLad - September 13, 2007 04:03 PM (GMT)
Managed to snap this up at W.H.Smiths before I left the country. Perfect cap to my UK Orlando getaway. (Details soon!)

Thanks to Tiger, mayfrayn and Jesse for the clicky links!

Wishfulthinkin - September 13, 2007 07:46 PM (GMT)
I've heard that quite a few people have a difficulty getting magazines like this when they come out.

Luckily, I work at WH Smiths, a news/magazine and stationary store on the news section, and as magazines come out I can pull them off the shelves and get staff discount on it too.

If future magazines come out that people would like to buy, I can try and ensure they get a copy. :) - I know we had plenty of this GQ copy left last Saturday.

The pictures are as hot as always, and he comes across wonderfully in the interview. No wonder he was editors choice! :D

mayfrayn - September 13, 2007 10:36 PM (GMT)
I have catch my copy of GQ now when I was in London, in the magazine they write that in November issue of tha magazine there will be a full reportage about the ceremony of the Awards!!

Jesse - September 14, 2007 08:02 AM (GMT)
So pleased you managed to get a copy mayfrayn.

Yes, I read that as well about the ceremony report. I will keep a sharp eye open!

Priestess - September 14, 2007 03:17 PM (GMT)
I'll have to check out my local Borders. Borders carries a lot of international magazines, so as an Aussie they would be my best bet.

Took the words right out of my mouth  ! There is no denying the man is gorgeous, but there is so much more to him that makes us love him. As Jesse stated the more mature fans all truly appreciate and respect him.

I will be very excited when this comes out in the US, even though I've read the article and seen the pictures I'm looking forward to actually owning it! lol

I agree with y'all. While I have been a big fan of LOTR since its first debut, I was not at all impressed by Orlando's pin-up status from that movie. In fact, it wasn't until AWE did I realize the guy had more talent than the critics gave him credit for -- Orlando's performance was the only one that had resonance, as far as I am concerned, in that entire movie.

While Orlando's good looks are quite obvious, I'm so clinical about aesthetic that it rarely sways my opinion of a person. I think the people who assume certain things about Orlando's fanbase are either too small-minded, to see past a person's look, or too cynical, to let the truth stand in their way of telling an entertaining story -- it's not that they don't know the existence of a silent majority, they just think it less fun to write about it.

irie - October 7, 2007 05:05 AM (GMT)
yay! I went to Borders today and it was finally there! So now I acutally have it :yahoo: I was very excited to find it!

Jesse - October 7, 2007 08:30 AM (GMT)
:yahoo: Glad you were able to get a copy Irie.
