Huge thanks to Mata for sharing these wonderful pictures of Orlando on stage from Rex Features. :friends:

Having read the play, but not yet seen it, the set is exactly as I pictured it in my mind.

I think I'm right in saying that these first three pictures are from a scene towards the end of the play when Andrew asks his mother why, when as a child, the door wasn't opened to him when he shouted through the letter box to be let in. (Andrew was sent to live with a neighbour when his mother couldn't cope with all the children after a family tragedy). Andrew then starts to dance with his mother.
The stern expressions on Orlando and Tim Healy's faces are out of concern over what Andrew is going to say to Mrs Shaw as he dances with her. He had previously talked about vengeance and salvation.

First Look at Orlando Bloom Celebration

For those of you who can't wait for next week’s opening of In Celebration, here are a few production shots from the play, in which Pirates of the Caribbean actor Orlando Bloom makes his stage debut, to whet your appetite. Below you can scroll through the photos, which feature Bloom - with a new moustache he grew for the part – alongside co-stars Paul Hilton and Tim Healy.

David Storey’s play, premiered at the Royal Court in 1969, centres on three brothers – Andrew, Colin and Steven – who return home to their Northern roots for a family reunion. Although they’ve returned to celebrate, the complexities of family life and long-held grievances make a decent party unlikely.

After a clash of dates (See News, 2 Jul 2007), the opening night was moved from 12 to 16 July (previews from 5 July). The production at the West End's Duke of York’s Theatre is directed by Anna Mackmin. The cast also includes Lynda Baron, Gareth Farr, Dearbhla Molloy and Ciaran McIntyre. The production is presented by Sonia Friedman Productions, and continues its limited season until 15 September 2007.

Note the shirt. Grey in some white in another. Looks like that is one of the little minor adjustments the Previews have picked up on and altered. Now...about that mirror, will somebody PLEASE clean it (see third picture), it's driving me insane!
