| Pirates Invade Sunrise Movie Theatre For Premier (CBS4) SUNRISE Hundreds of wannabe Pirates invaded a Sunrise movie theatre on Sunday as they tried to catch a glimpse of the first showing of the Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End trailer. Fans of the Walt Disney movie lined up at the Regal Cinema at Sawgrass Mills Mall and were decked out in their “Sunday Best”, well for a pirate. “I’m pillaging and looting for the fun of it,” said Captain Dan, who was dressed in his best impression of the films star, Captain Jack Sparrow. “I’m looking to see the Pirates of the Caribbean 3 trailer because we love Captain Jack.” Besides the trailer premier, fans in attendance were also treated to a special screening of the first movie in the trilogy, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl". Some pirate enthusiasts, like their hero’s who preceded them, traveled long distances in pursuit of their “movie” treasure. Kendra Pachkowski and her family “sailed” all the way from Bradenton on a busy highway to attend Sunday’s screening. “My husband and I have turned our entire house and our lives to Pirates,” said Pachkowski. “He quit his job and everything just to become a pirate. We just love it. It’s everything we want to do.” Johnny Depp reprises his role of Captain Jack Sparrow in the third installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. Pirates of the Caribbean is set in the Caribbean sometime in the early-to-mid 18th century. It was inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean attractions at Disney theme parks around the world, which was developed by Walt Disney himself. The first “Pirates” movie grossed almost $654 million worldwide, becoming the 22nd highest grossing film in the United States. The second film grossed $423,315,812 in the United States and became the third film to reach the one billion worldwide mark, with over $1,065,200,000. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is set to open on May 25, 2007. |
