Bloom was making his way south to join his cousin on an expedition of antartica to view the effects of global warming. | Dear friends: In the previous News, the waves and the delay left us on the Ice lady Patagonia anchored in the island Deception waiting for the "window" of good weather for a safe way to cross to Ushuaia. While, to brighten up the delay, we made a traditional celebration delivering the TARANTAR stands out (Antarctic´s idiots) – ( personal note, this a word in Spanish but it sort if means that, and now comes a narration of “awards” that were given to the people that did something stupid during the trip). He stepped to read part of the mail sent by Jorge in the opportunity. "In another order, we are bored, but last night there was a celebration for de delivery of “Tarantares” . The nominated were those that stood out: Jose Tamayo and Miguel Angel Vidal, two Everest and Antarctic experts, they have programs in TV etc. etc., deserving to get the award for taking "domingueros" (personal note: Spanish word, hard to translate the meaning) to raise 300 mts of hills. Also nominated: Jose Maria Brave Jayme, who while playing in the sea on an Iceberg with the form of an Igloo made it rotate and fell from it and then he did not conform with it, on land he armed an Igloo that collapsed( he won a Tarantar). Third name, as always, Carlos Vairo, for breaking the boat’s helices.. In addition, I gave the prize (a book of SOS Antártida with dedication) to the “Antarctic Gentleman”, Antonio Guimaraes (from Portugual). And the final surprise to Carlos Vairo (as I had anticipated he was the one who would break everything, like is obvious) he received a toy, the subject was very applauded. I delivered also the special mention of “Antarctic baptism” to actor Orlando Bloom, who I named "King of the Antarctic Chess". After the celebration, Lady Ice weighed anchor to all machine, crossed the Drake Passage with reasonable weather and arrived at night at Ushuaia on the 15th of February. This last Antarctica expedition is going to allow to the Association of Austral Scientific Exploration and the Marine Museum of Ushuaia to finally complete the information to publish the book on the whaling establishments in the Antarctica, and also aloud Sebastian Copeland to publish his book of Antarctic photographies with prologue from Al Gore, and to all the human group Iberian-Argentinean to narrow a relation that helped the Ice Lady to be received in the Spanish ports when it arrives in May to exhibit the Antarctic subjects. In next news, a complete section of the itinerary of the Ice, with the discovery of an old shipwreck included. Sincerely Guillermo May |

| there they talk about an "award show " that they did to spend sometime while they were waiting for good weather to cross the Drake passage, in that award ceremony, Orlando received the mention as "King of the Antarctic Chess"... here you can read it .. so this is why they made the manip with the chess pieces, as if it were a crown… a crown for the King of the Antarctic Chess, in the pic that reflects his duty as the King.. washing the dishes. :lmao: |

| A Global Green Adventure For actor and environmental activist ORLANDO BLOOM, going "green" runs in the family. Our CHERYL WOODCOCK caught up with Orlando and his cousin, the photographer and filmmaker SEBASTIAN COPELAND, at the Global Green USA's "green carpet" last month! Prior to the Global Green party, the globetrotting duo had just flown in from Antarctica to take pictures for Sebastian's upcoming book, which aims to help prove the reality and urgency of the global warming crisis. As well as being a celebrity photographer of stars such as KATE BOSWORTH, ELIJAH WOOD, SANDRA BULLOCK and cousin Orlando, of course, Sebastian is actively involved in the environmental movement. This is his seventh year at Global Green, and he is on the Board of Directors of Global Green USA and co-chair of the L.A. Committee. The organization seeks to foster a global value shift toward a safer, more sustainable planet by addressing what it calls the three greatest challenges facing humanity: stemming global climate change, eliminating weapons of mass destruction and ensuring access to clean drinking water. Sebastian spoke with our Cheryl Woodcock about his environmental mission for an article in last month's issue of Capitol File magazine. "We are forced to realize that Mother Earth, the nurturing force that is a part of us, has to be respected and cared for because we cannot go on in the way that we have," he told Cheryl. While Cheryl notes that both Sebastian and his movie star cousin share a boyish handsomeness and a propensity to charm and disarm, it is clear that what really motivates the photographer is his work with Global Green. "You get a sense of empowerment, a connection to a fundamental goal that exceeds just the limited pursuit of materialism," he added. Along with Orlando, Sebastian has enlisted celeb help from the likes of SALMA HAYEK and JAKE GYLLENHAAL for a press initiative in Antarctica in defense of the Inuit for an environmental art project created by JOHN QUIGLEY. Sebastian has a forthcoming book, Antarctica: The Global Warning, which includes a foreward by former Soviet Union leader and environmentalist MIKHAIL GORBACHEV and LEO DiCAPRIO. You can learn more about Sebastian's environmental crusade in L.A. Confidential magazine's summer issue. Sebastian's book comes out in September, and you can bet our "Insider" cameras will be following him all the way through this book process! For more info on his book, head to earthawareeditions.com. | Madonna is to head a star-studded line up at the new Wembley Stadium to highlight the threat of climate change. She will be joined by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Razorlight, Keane, Snow Patrol and Genesis for the Live Earth concert on July 7. Other performers announced for the London leg of the global gig include the Foo Fighters, Beastie Boys and the Black Eyed Peas. The Wembley show is aiming to raise awareness of the threat of climate change and is just one of several spanning all seven continents. Live Earth founder Kevin Wall said: "This monster line-up will ensure Live Earth meets our goal of bringing people together from around the world to combat the climate crisis." The concerts are forming part of a global publicity drive on the issue, tagged SOS - Save Our Selves - headed by former US vice president Al Gore. Organisers hope more than two billion people will be able to tune in to the coverage of the 24-hour event on television, radio and online. Mr Gore said: "The political system has been paralysed and the way forward is to bring a significant change at the grass roots level." Other cities taking part in the event include Shanghai, Johannesburg and Sydney, while there will also be concerts held in Japan, Brazil, and the US. Proceeds from the concerts will create a foundation to combat climate change led by The Alliance for Climate Protection, currently chaired by Mr Gore. Online registration for tickets - which are priced at £55 and are to be allocated by ballot - will open on Friday April 13 and close on April 16. |
