PirateAngelChic - September 13, 2006 08:14 PM (GMT)
Hi im haveing a problem with my Avatar, I want to upload a new one, but every time I do the old one still shows up, its a Jpeg, 100x100 I dont see what could be wrong. I even tried to resize it, and it shows that I resized it when I upload it but the old image is still there. can anyone tell me whats wrong?

You'll need to upload your avatar into a photohosting account, like ImageShack, and then use the URL from there to load your avatar into here and that should work-that's what I always have to do when I change mine here. :)

I tried that, it still didnt work, I was using firefox for some reason I dont know why it doesnt work in that, I tried Internet explorer and I see the new avatar just fine.

but thanx for youre help.

I checked the coding of your avatar and it tells me you've been using the 'Browse' button in the avatar section to upload an avatar from your computer. Which is fine, but is does use our disc space. If you upload it to an external image host it's much easier to change over. You just use the http:// code in the box above the browse button ( it reads: Enter URL to an online avatar image).

If you are still having problems you can send the avatar to me in a PM or email I can upload it for you. I'll host it at Imageshack for you. If you want to try Imageshack yourself (which is free) just click on the yellow frog at the bottom of the forum pages.

Hope that helps. :)

I tried that both with imageshack and photobucket and it doesnt seem to work in firefox it works in internet explorer though, I dont know why. I'm using firefox right now and I still see my old avatar but with ie, I get the new one.

I can see Orlando kissing the little boy from the Haven premiere last night.

This is really bizarre! It could be a cache thing. Have the files both got the same or similar name or reference number? Try changing the file name and see if it makes a difference.

I tried that too, I tried basically everything but nothing seems to work, it does this on Orlando Love too, and I cant figure out why, I use firefox because I get the red x's all the time on ie and firefox doesnt do that. its really wierd.

Upload the avatar to your PB account and post the link here. I'll have a play in the morning - I need to sleep, Orlando is exhausting me!

I'm on Firefox as well, so together we may be able to sort it out.
